Briefing for Imported Workers under the Supplementary Labour Scheme
in clause 11 of the Standard Employment Contract (SEC) prescribed under the
Supplementary Labour Scheme (SLS), employers are required to grant paid leave
worker (including new recruits and those with employment contracts renewed) for
attending a briefing, on the basis of each
SEC signed, organized by the Labour Department within 8 weeks upon their arrival in Hong Kong.
The briefings to be held in December 2022 are as follows:
Venue：Room 929, 9/F, Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices, 303 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon
11 AM - 12:30 PM
2 PM - 3:30 PM
3:30 PM - 5 PM
The employers should arrange the relevant imported workers to attend a briefing by returning the completed Enrolment Form for Briefing(PDF) and Acknowledgement List of Employment Contract (PDF) to us by fax at 2542 2742.
Please note that enrolment is on a first-come-first-served basis due to limited quota. In case of over-subscription, the imported worker(s) would be assigned to attend a briefing on another date specified by the Labour Department, and relevant employers would be notified accordingly. If an imported worker is unable to attend such briefing, the employer should take the responsibility to enroll the imported worker to attend another briefing again at a later date.
In the interest of public health, all participants must wear surgical masks and undergo body temperature screening before entering the venue.
Please note that the Labour Department may consider refusing applications under the Supplementary Labour Scheme submitted by employers failing to comply with the briefing requirement within 1 year from the issue date of the relevant written notice.
If a Pre-No.8 Special Announcement is issued, or Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above / Black Rainstorm Warning Signal/"Extreme Conditions" after super typhoon is hoisted / still in force at 8 am, all briefings on that day will be cancelled.
