REGISTRY OF TRADE UNIONS

The Registry of Trade Unions (RTU) administers the Trade Unions Ordinance and Trade Union Registration Regulations, with a view to fostering trade unions in accordance with the law and their respective rules. Through its various kinds of services RTU also promotes responsible and sound trade union administration. The major areas of work of the RTU include:

  • registering trade unions;
  • registering rules of trade unions;
  • examining trade unions' annual statements of account and any other returns required by the law to be furnished to RTU; and
  • organising courses on trade union legislation and fundamental trade union account management for trade unions.
