WAGE SECURITY DIVISION

The Wage Security Division

• assists employees who are owed wages, wages in lieu of notice and severance payment by insolvent employers to apply for ex gratia payment from the Protection of Wages on Insolvency Fund (the Fund)
• provides administrative support to the Protection of Wages on Insolvency Fund Board
• processes and verifies applications to the Fund

• covers wages owed in respect of services rendered to an employer during the four months prior to the last day of service, wages in lieu of notice and severance payment payable to an employee under the Employment Ordinance
• is financed by an annual levy of HK$450 on each business registration certificate
