The Youth Pre-employment Training Programme Office

The Programme Office of the Youth Pre-employment Training Programme is responsible for the implementation of the Youth Pre-employment Training Programme.

The Programme targets at young school leavers aged 15-19. Its primary objective is to provide young people with a wide range of employment-related training and workplace attachment opportunities, thereby improving their employability and competitiveness.

The Programme is built on three pillars: modular training, workplace attachment training, and career counseling and support services.

Modular training includes:

Module A Leadership, Discipline and Team Building;
Module B Job Search and Interpersonal Skills (Mandatory);
Module C Basic/Intermediate Computer Applications; and
Module D Job-specific Skills.

Trainees can undergo a one-month workplace attachment training upon completion of modular training. Attachment opportunities are provided by government departments, private companies and welfare organizations. There is no employment relationship between the trainees and the host organizations during the attachment period. Under the Programme, a monthly nominal allowance is payable to trainees on completion of attachment training.

The Programme will arrange registered social workers to be case managers of individual trainees. They will provide career counseling and support services to trainees throughout the Programme.
