Protection of Wages on Insolvency Fund Board

The Protection of Wages on Insolvency Fund Board is established under the Protection of Wages on Insolvency Ordinance, Chapter 380.

Functions

  1. To administer the Protection of Wages on Insolvency Fund;
  2. To make recommendations to the Chief Executive with respect to the rate of Business Registration levy; and
  3. To perform such other duties as are imposed or other powers as are conferred on it by the Protection of Wages on Insolvency Ordinance.

Membership

For the current term from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2026, the membership list is as follows :

Assistant Commissioner for Labour responsible for wage security matters
Assistant Principal Solicitor of the Official Receiver's Office

Information on the Board

A report on the activities of the Board is published annually. According to section 13 of the Protection of Wages on Insolvency Ordinance, the annual report is required to be tabled at the Legislative Council.
