Safety hints about fatal work accident that happened in Chek Lap Kok on 27 July 2026

In response to the fatal work accident that happened at an aircraft hangar in Chek Lap Kok on the morning of 27 July 2026, in which a male worker fell from the working platform of a fuselage dock while repairing an aircraft hull and was later certified dead in hospital, the LD calls on duty holders to take adequate precautionary measures to protect workers’ safety while working at height, including:

  • providing workers with suitable working platforms, which should be securely fenced by guardrails at a height of not less than 900 mm; or otherwise suitably protected.
