Safety hints about fatal work accident that happened in Kai Tak on 22 April 2026

In response to the fatal accident that happened on 22 April 2026, in which a male worker was pressed by a precast concrete block that suddenly toppled while he was assisting a fork-lift truck in handling the block, the LD calls on duty holders to take suitable safety measures to prevent workers from being pressed by toppled objects, including:

• ensuring the objects are supported, stored and stacked in a safe and secure manner; and
• selecting suitable mechanical aids and methods to handle the objects and prevent them from toppling.
