Safety hints about fatal work accident that happened in Sai Kung on 22 November 2025

In response to the fatal work accident on 22 November 2025, in which a male worker suffocated after his clothing was entangled by the cutting drill of a concrete core drilling machine, the LD calls on duty holders to take suitable safety measures to prevent workers from being entangled or injured by drilling machines, including:

• providing effective guarding to all dangerous parts (including cutting drills); and
• ensuring that workers do not wear loose clothing or accessories while operating drilling machines.
