Safety hints about fatal work accident that happened in Tuen Mun on 29 October 2025

In response to the fatal accident that happened on 29 October 2025, in which a male worker was gashed by an electric chainsaw while pruning trees, the LD appeals to duty holders to take adequate safety measures to prevent employees from being injured while operating electric chainsaws, including providing relevant employees with:

• suitable personal protective equipment (including protective clothing, safety boots, protective gloves, safety helmets, eye protectors and ear protectors); and
• adequate information, instruction, training and supervision for the safe operation of electric chainsaws.
