Safety hints about fatal work accident that happened in Yau Ma Tei on 28 December 2024

In response to the fatal accident that happened on 28 December 2024, the LD appeals to duty holders using lifting gear for lifting operation to ensure that lifting gear:

• is of good construction, made of sound material with adequate strength, and is free from patent defects; and
• shall be inspected by a competent person before use on each occasion, other than regular testing and thorough examination by a competent examiner, to ensure the lifting gear is in safe working order.
