About the Survey

  • The Labour Department is carrying out the 2020 Working Hours Situation Household Survey to collect information on the working hours situation of the local workforce and their views on working hours arrangements
  • Use scientific sampling method to select households for participation in the Survey
  • Assist the government in formulating working hours policy and implementing related education/ publicity activities to promote family-friendly employment culture

Participation of sampled households in the Survey

  • Will receive a survey notification letter
  • Please provide required information to the visiting enumerator
  • Can call the commissioned research firm to make an interview appointment in advance if necessary

Data confidentiality

  • Information provided will be kept in strict confidence
  • Data collected will be used to compile aggregate statistics only
  • All questionnaires will be destroyed within 12 months after the end of the Survey period

Q2. How can I check the identity of enumerators conducting the 2020 Working Hours Situation Household Survey?
 
A2. The Labour Department has commissioned a research company (MOV Data Collection Center Limited) to conduct the survey. Each enumerator will carry an identity card issued by the commissioned research firm and the Labour Department for verification.
 
A notification letter, enclosing a leaflet on means to verify the identity of the enumerator and the enquiry hotline of the commissioned firm, will be sent to the sampled households prior to the interview.
