Five employee representatives elected to Labour Advisory Board

Five employee representatives nominated by registered employee unions were today (November 16) elected to the Labour Advisory Board (LAB) for a term of two years starting from next January.

They are:

* Mr Leung Chau-ting(138 votes)
Hong Kong Clerical Grades Civil Servants General Union

* Mr Wong Kwok-kin(279 votes)
Shipping Employees Union

* Mr Cheung Kwok-bui (112 votes)
Hong Kong Civil Servants General Union

* Mr Poon Siu-ping (230 votes)
Hong Kong Storehouses and Transportation
Staff Association

* Ms Wong Siu-han (156 votes)
Electronic Products Workers' Union

At today's election, representatives from 327 registered employee unions turned out to vote and 325 ballot papers were declared valid.

The counting of votes was supervised by the candidates; the Assistant Commissioner for Labour, Mrs Jenny Chan Mak Kit-ling, who also acted as the Returning Officer of the election; Mrs Do Pang Wai-yee who represented the Economic Development and Labour Bureau; and Mr Kelvin Chan Kwok-keung of the Registry of Trade Union.
