Watch out for Impostors

From time to time, The Labour Department receives reports about companies getting calls from outsiders who claimed to be officers of the Department and asked for particulars of the company for mailing or faxing publications or other alleged purposes.

We wish to advise that when our officers make phone calls to other organisations, they will always make known their names and offices. Our officers conducting site inspections will also identify themselves by providing their warrant cards.

If you have any doubts about a caller's identity, please ask for his/her contact telephone number or office address so that follow-up action can be taken. You are advised to check with our Department by calling the enquiry hotline 27171 771(handled by "1823 Call Centre") or report immediately to the Police if you have further doubts.
