LIST OF LABOUR LEGISLATION Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Gas Welding and Flame Cutting) Regulation This Regulation was approved by the Legislative Council on 28 November, 2001 to ensure that gas welding and flame cutting work is performed by competent persons. The main provisions of the Regulation are :
Sections 1, 2, 4 & 5 of the Regulation have come into operation on 30 November 2001 to empower the Commissioner for Labour to approve the relevant training courses so as to enable training of workers to start as early as possible. To allow sufficient time for workers to be trained and certified to perform gas welding and flame cutting work, other sections of the Regulation will be brought into force after a grace period of 24 months.
