The Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Suspended Working Platforms) (Amendment) Regulation 2003

The Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Suspended Working Platforms) (Amendment) Regulation 2003 was approved by the Legislative Council on 26 November 2003 and was published in the Gazette on 28 November 2003 to take immediate effect.

The purpose of this Regulation is to amend the definition of "owner" of a suspended working platform in the principal regulation to include any contractor who has control over the way any construction work which involves the use of the suspended working platform is carried out in a construction site.

The amendment is made to reflect the amendment to the Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations to extend the duties imposed on the principal contractor to any contractor who has control over the way any construction work is carried out in a construction site.
