Productivity Assessments for Employees with Disabilities under the Minimum Wage Ordinance: Application for Appointment as Approved Assessors

The Labour Department is inviting applications from eligible persons for appointment as approved assessors for conducting productivity assessments for employees with disabilities under the Minimum Wage Ordinance.

Any persons fulfilling any one of the following four criteria can apply:

  1. Occupational Therapists registered under Part I of the register for occupational therapists
  2. Physiotherapists registered under Part Ia or Part Ib of the register for physiotherapists
  3. Registered Social Workers
  4. The above three kinds of persons should possess in total not less than 3 years’ experience in the provision of vocational rehabilitation or other services in relation to the employment of persons with a disability in the relevant professional capacity during the immediately preceding 7 years.

  5. Vocational rehabilitation practitioners being currently engaged or had been engaged by the organisation(s) recognized by the Commissioner for Labour; has been worked for the recognized organisation(s) for not less than 5 years in total in the provision of vocational rehabilitation or other services in relation to the employment of persons with a disability during the immediately preceding 10 years; and with the recommendation of the recognized organisation(s) to become an approved assessor.

The Labour Department will disburse to an approved assessor an allowance of HK$2,000 per assessment upon the completion of productivity assessment and administrative procedures as required.
